• Drugs to draw up
    for cardiac cases
    • Heparin
      • 1000 units/ml - 20ml (20,000 units = 200mg)
    • Antibiotics
      • Cefuroxime 1.5g (rpt at 2 and 11h)
      • Gentamicin (320mg)
    • Protamine
      • 10mg/ml
      • Reversal at dose of 1:1 with heparin
      • Then run at 2.5ml/h for 6h
    • Fentanyl
      • ~10 mcg/kg induction
    • Benzodiazepine
      • 0.1mg/kg diazepam bolus at induction
    • Phenylephrine
      • 100mcg/ml
      • Perfusionist may require 10mg in 40-50ml
    • Tranexamic acid
      • 5mg/kg bolus then 5mg/kg/hr thereafter for duration of case
    • Muscle relaxant
      • Rocuronium for induction
    • Ephedrine
      • Usual dilution
    • Morphine
      • 50mg in 50ml
    • Propofol
      • For induction and transfer
